I've used Logic Pro X for years now. Unfortunately, it now consistently never works. It is incredibly buggy, and literally unusable at this point. Please make it better at handling plugins that are not Kontakt related PLEASE
  • LATEST UPDATE KILLS ME

Logic is the best program around, but this latest update has mine crashing EVERY session. It's horrible and slows my workflow to a crawl. REALLY BAD UPDATE. I work in Logic every day and this is absolutely killing me.

I have been using Logic since 2014 and I have never looked back. It is easy to record, edit, and I wouldn't use anything else.
  • Latest Update ruined all my projects

Projects that have a Drummer track no longer play drums. They are not muted, I didn't change any settings, I just updated Logic and now none of my projects play correctly. Every time I open a project it it has to download additional content even though I have the entire 75 GB sound library installed. It always downloads a file that's 54.3 MB and it does absolutely nothing to fix the track. No drum audio. Only been using Logic for a few months now and I am NOT impressed. There's obviously a reason it's so cheap and now I know why.

I am a big fan of Logic and love the workflow. But the amount of bugs and issues coming up is ridicoulous, to the point its interfering w workflow. Apple needs to release an update ASAP and fix these issues.
  • Logic lacks basic features audio pros need to collaborate.

I’m collaborating more frequently with other audio professionals and some important missing features are beginning to make that difficult with Logic. It seems inflexible and I’m looking elsewhere. - Routing in Logic is great, but the CUSTOM I/O labeling is stored globally and saved with the Logic preferences file. CUSTOM I/O labels should be saved in project/project folder or with a custom template. Save it as a separate file because you might require completely different custom I/O labels for your tracking session, your mixing session, or a mastering session. Mixing a band one day and film audio the next? Well get ready to spend hours creating the routing labels critical to you figuring out where things are routed in your mix! That’s unacceptable. - Same thing with things like tempo mapping MARKERS, beat divisions, etc. Other DAWs allow you to share project details much easier between them. Logic doesn’t even want to see those details. Audio pros use all kinds of software. Why can we share project editing details between Digital Performer and ProTools, but not between Digital Performer and Logic? - Large scale mixes need custom colors to help you stay organized. Logic offers colors, but not enough. And I personally would like it if the whole track header was colored. - No option to export a simple track listing. ProTools has a play list you can simply see the track names (not audio files or events). If you want to share track names with a colaborator in a file or email, you have to type it all again. This shouldn’t be hard to export as a csv. I could probably go on. These are not the main features of recording/editing/mixing that Logic does a quality job at, but they are workflow tools that are essential to productivity and since other products out there have it and Logic doesn’t you wonder what the issue is?
  • 10.4.5 and newer ruining my projects

Ever since I updated to 10.4.5, my projects have been shifting in some weird semitones and cents. I will have a part of a song on loop while working on it, and all of a sudden it will shift out of key. Moving to another part of a song does not help. I have to completely restart Logic Pro. At first I thought that the problem was isolated to the Serum vst, but as of update 10.4.6, it is many more instrumental vsts.
  • Don't update!

Ever since updating to 10.4.6, I can't bounce my projects. I keep getting an error saying "command not available". Also after opening, if I try to open another project other than the auto opened one, it says "the operation could not be completed" and then just crashes.
  • Insane value, but needs a modern sampler

My only complaint—as a new Logic user who has used Ableton for a few years—is that Logic only seems to be lacking an amazing sampler. Ultrabeat, EXS24 frankly look so dated and hard to use that I simply don't even want to attempt using them. They are not up to par with how powerful, performant, and easy-to-use the sampler ("Simpler") is in Ableton. If they can nail a new, modern, easy ot use sampler like they have so many other plugins, I don't think there will be a reason to use any other DAW besides Logic.
  • Update: 10.4.6 = Back to 5 stars

10.4.6 - Bugs that I and others were experiencing have been fixed. 5 star program. You really cant get more bang for your buck. 10.4.5 - Ive read a ton of reviews saying this new version has a lot of bugs but I havent seen any….. BECAUSE IT WONT LOAD PERIOD NOW!!!!!! If it wasnt for time machine allowing me to move back to the previous version I would be SOL. I really hope you guys get this fixed ASAP. Its prettty ridiculous that you could take such a great program and make it totally unusable for some users….. C’mon Apple…. Dont skimp on testing just to put something out there. If it wasnt for this lattest version I would give Logix Pro X a 5 star review…. and as soon as I can actually get past the “Whats New in Logic 10.4.5” window Ill make sure I give it the stars it deserves but this is one star program until its fixed.
